چکیده
Summary In the last decade, Holmium Laser Enucleation of Prostate (HoLEP) has become new gold standard for surgical treatment benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH). This several modifications, and latest one is en bloc (single piece) enucleation. method reduces operative time risk early incontinence. The long-term effect much better than transurethral resection prostate (TURP). We applied an effective treating with maximum safety, minimal hospital stays, short time, complications. operated on 50 patients BPH a volume between 30-120 cc. Transrectal ultrasound, uroflowmetry, PSA test, IPSS (International Symptom Score), residual urine, digital rectal examination, laboratory blood urine tests were performed preoperatively. used laser (Auriga XL) W, 600 μm fiber morcellator (Richard Wolf PIRANHA). During procedure, laser’s operating power was 36 W. En enucleation in all patients, followed by morcellation tissue. 11-52 min, - 1-10 weight enucleated tissue 15-100 g, efficiency 0.67-3.03 g/min, postoperative catheterization 24-72h, stay 1 to 3 days. متن کاملHolmium laser enucleation of the prostate: patient selection and perspectives
BACKGROUND Multiple endoscopic surgical options exist to treat benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH), including holmium laser enucleation of the prostate (HoLEP). HoLEP alleviates obstructive prostatic tissue via enucleation, both bluntly with a resectoscope and by cutting tissue with the holmium laser, and removal of adenoma via morcellation. This article reviews patient selection for HoLEP in or...

INTRODUCTION This was a prospective, randomized clinical trial to compare the safety, efficacy, and medium-term durability of holmium laser enucleation of the prostate (HoLEP) combined with mechanical morcellation versus standard transurethral resection of the prostate (TURP) for the surgical treatment of patients with bladder outlet obstruction due to benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH). The pa...

OBJECTIVES The issue of durability is an important concern when evaluating new surgical modalities. To date, only 24-mo data have been published on holmium enucleation of the prostate (HoLEP) despite its widespread use worldwide although 4-yr data exist for the earlier technique of holmium resection. This study addresses the issue of durability of HoLEP. METHODS All patients who had undergone...

INTRODUCTION: Holmium laser enucleation of the prostate (HoLEP) combined with mechanical morcellation represents the latest refinement of holmium:YAG surgical treatment for benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH). Utilizing this technique, even the largest of glands can be effectively treated with minimal morbidity. The learning curve remains an obstacle, preventing more widespread adoption of this ...
